Del Mar, California—Iron Man Cal, a 4-year-old gelding by Rancho San Miguel’s leading California sire Collected, became a dual-surface graded stakes winner on August 29 with his front-running upset of Del Mar’s $252,500 Pat O’Brien Stakes (G2), earning an automatic berth in the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) at Keeneland Race Course on October 31 due to the California race’s “Win and You’re In” designation.
