Collected Filly Thought Process Is Breeders’ Cup-Bound After G2 Rodeo Drive Romp
Arcadia, California—Stretching out to 10 furlongs was not a hurdle for fast-moving Thought Process, a 4-year-old filly by the Rancho San Miguel stallion Collected who punched her ticket to the 2026 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1) with a dominant gate-to-wire effort in Santa Anita Park’s $203,000 Rodeo Drive Stakes (G2) on October 3.
Saddled by trainer Phil D’Amato as the 4-5 wagering favorite in the assembled 11-horse field, Thought Process set untested fractions of :24.51, :48.33, 1:12.54 and 1:35.85 under jockey Hector Berrios, who brought her to the wire in 1:58.47 as a clear, 4 1/4-length winner.
The “Win and You’re In” race marked her third victory from four starts this year — all in graded stakes company on the grass, and served as her final prep for the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf, which will be conducted at 1 3/16 miles at Keeneland Race Course on October 31.
Bred in Kentucky by Brereton Jones and produced by the stakes winner Creative Thinking, by Creative Cause, Thought Process has earned $850,200 for the Estate of Brereton C. Jones, Little Red Feather Racing and Madaket Stables LLC.
She is from the third foal crop of Grade 1 winner Collected, a 13-year-old son of City Zip who reigns as California’s leading sire of 2026.
