Same-Day Del Mar Winners Push Mo Forza Over $1 Million In Progeny Earnings
Del Mar, California—He was a millionaire racehorse, and now he is a millionaire stallion!
Two runners from the first foal crop of Rancho San Miguel resident Mo Forza reached the Del Mar winner’s circle on September 7, embellishing their sire’s status as California’s 2026 Leading Second-Crop Sire and pushing his overall progeny earnings over the seven-figure benchmark.
First up was Famous Forza, a 3-year-old filly who outran her elders with a fiery stretch rally under jockey Emisael Jaramillo in a five-furlong turf dash, which she completed in :56.84 with a 1 1/2-length advantage. A maiden special weight winner on the Santa Anita Park lawn last January, she has won twice and placed four times from eight career starts for trainer Bill McLean, who owns the filly in partnership with TKO Stable and Michael Archibald.
Bred in California by Rancho San Miguel and Tommy Hutton’s Dream Stable, Famous Forza earned $29,520 for her starter optional claiming win. To date, she has contributed $94,640 toward her sire’s progeny receipts as his highest-earning daughter and second-highest earner overall. She is also the top earner for her dam, the multiple winner Sindyfromsantacruz, by Cuvee.
An hour after Famous Forza’s victory, her cropmate Mo Bradley also flattered their sire with his own impressive last-to-first score against older rivals in a $81,500 maiden special weight race conducted on the same Del Mar grass course.
The 3-year-old gelding carried a confident Ricardo Gonzalez from eighth to first in a late-closing 1:35.48, ultimately reaching the wire with a one-length advantage as the 5-2 wagering favorite in the assembled field of eight.
Mo Bradley has earned $48,000 from two starts for trainer Andy Mathis, who co-owns him along with Strohmaier Racing, The John Lovett and Karleen Lovett Family Trust and Philip Lebherz. A $35,000 yearling purchase, he was bred in California by Mike Adams, and is the second starter and winner out of the stakes-winning Grazen mare Ruby Bradley.
Grade 1 winner Mo Forza, an earner of $1,034,460 during his three seasons of racing, leads all California-based second-crop sires with 21 winners and overall progeny earnings of $1,049,413. The 10-year-old son of Uncle Mo currently ranks #11 among all active sires in California and #18 among all stallions who entered stud in North America in 2022 with his year-to-date progeny earnings of $951,003.
