Grade 1 Winner Tom’s Tribute Has First Winner.

First time starter Ecologist, who left the starting gate at 43-1 and despite a poor start and having to check and alter course in mid-stretch, impressively ran down the favorite late by 1 1/2 lengths (see chart) at Golden Gate Fields on February 7 to become the first winner by Grade 1 Winner Tom’s Tribute.

Ecologist, who is owned and bred by DP Racing LLC and is trained by Sherrie Monroe, ran the 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:04.
